Description

Aragorn's sword, also known as the Strider, is one of the most iconic weapons in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Before becoming King of Gondor, Aragorn roamed the lands of Middle-earth under a false identity, that of a lone ranger. His sword perfectly reflected his life as a traveler: sturdy, unadorned, and crafted for efficiency.

Unlike Andúril, the sword reforged from the fragments of Narsil that he later wields, this first sword embodies the quiet phase of his destiny. It appears in the early parts of the saga, notably when he guides Frodo and his companions out of the Shire to Rivendell. It is also seen in battles against the Nazgûl and at Helm's Deep. It is a trusted weapon, accompanying Aragorn in the early stages of his fight against Sauron's forces.
